Our school is growing every year! This is fantastic news and a great indicator that the excellent education we provide is in high demand. As much as we are excited with this, we are also anxious about how we might be able to accommodate the space issues. We have divided the last two spaces that we had to create two more classrooms in order to get by this school year. Facilities are not growing as fast as the school population so we will need to work very hard altogether as YSCP community to successfully complete this year. Our campus size and traffic have not increased. We have a total of 40 parking spots on our campus. 10 of those parking spots are in the front of the building and 30 are at the back. We have plans to add 20 more parking spots which will be sufficient to accommodate employee cars. With the assumption that we get on the Planning Commission Agenda for September 28, and receive a recommendation for approval, we should be placed on the Board of Supervisors meeting agenda on Oct 19. If we get approval at that point, it will take about two weeks to get the plan recorded and the zoning permit issued, which should put us right around the beginning of November! Hoping that the weather still permits us to do construction we will add the 20 more spots. The illustration below shows where the planned parking spots will be added. On a given day we have 10-15 employees who need to park at the State College Evangelical Free Church parking lot on Blue Course. We will not plan any more school wide events due to parking and space issues and even in that case, all employees have to park at the Church to open up spots for parents. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the State College Evangelical Free Church for accommodating us and our employees and for their stewardship. Although, we leave the front parking lot for parents for drop-off and pick-up, we have to work together to make traffic flow and move everyone on their way on a timely and safe fashion. There are a number of things you can do to help.
Besides these, regular traffic rules apply in our campus.
